Opening hours:
Depending on concerts times, the office extends its opening hours.
Each student receives one hour and a half of piano accompaniment during the masterclass.
If any student wants to practice with the pianist outside of the one and a half hour already included in the masterclass, an agreement must be found with the pianist. The Academy is not repsonsable in any way.
Singing masterclasses do not follow this rule. Piano accompaniment is all included in the masterclass fees.
Please do not forget to take all piano parts for the accompanist.
Teaching and practice rooms are located in the old town of Sion, either in the Conservatoire Cantonal (13 Place du Scex), or in one of the two buildings of the University of Music – HEMU, Haute Ecole de Musique – (13 Rue du Vieux-Collège and 5 Rue de Gravelone), in the Collège de la Planta (1 Avenue du Petit-Chasseur) and in the Ecole de Jazz et Musique actuelle (Rue de la Dixence 10).
The Academy provides students with several practice rooms with pianos, free of charge, from 8:00 to 22:00 daily. Students share the assigned practice rooms based on mutual understanding.
Every Tuesday evening from 7pm a welcome party takes place at “la Cave à Jazz” under the “Théâtre de Valère” (Rue du Vieux-Collège 22 ) with all students teachers and the Academy staff.
Throughout the Academy, several concert opportunities are organised (depending on the week and the health situation):
Students have the opportunity to register for free improvisation & jazz workshops given in collaboration with the School of Jazz and Contemporary Music of Valais.
These free workshops are offered to students each week. They will take place depending on number of participants. They include two or three evening classes at the EJMA (rue de la Dixence 10) and will be given by professional musicians.
A public concert will complete the workshop.
Interested students must register online by checking the corresponding box in the registration form.
By submitting the online registration form, candidates agree to accept the general conditions of these rules, the French version of which is binding.
The Academy reserves the right to record, reproduce and broadcast free of charge, whether on the radio, television, video, CD, DVD or any other medium or format, all student performances. The same applies to any interviews and/or photo sessions granted to the Media.
