Born in Lugano, Fabio Di Càsola won the 1st Prize at the Geneva International Music Performance Competition in 1990 at the age of 23 and has since performed all over the world. Invited to perform at numerous festivals, he has also won the Patek Philippe Grand Prize, the Swiss Prize for Contemporary Music and the Stresa International Contemporary Music Competition. In 1998, he was elected “Swiss Musician of the Year” by the jury and the public.
As a soloist, he collaborates with many ensembles. Following a concert at the Tonhalle in Zurich, the Sony label offered to publish his recordings: two chamber music records, one with Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto and one with Weber’s works for clarinet and orchestra have already been released and have received unanimous critical acclaim. A Professor of clarinet and chamber music at the University of the Arts in Zurich, he is also regularly invited as a jury member for various international competitions.
